Dinner After the Everglades
The Homestead entrance of Everglades National Park (the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center and the road down to Royal Palm and the Anhinga Trail) is roughly a 20-minute drive from our kitchen in Florida City. Which matters at 5 PM, when you’ve walked the boardwalks in the heat, counted your alligators, and want real food — not another gas-station stop.
We open at 4 PM, which lines up almost suspiciously well with park days. Order from the trail parking lot (call, text, or online), drive back toward US-1, and dinner is hot when you get here — cooked to order from house-made curry bases, the way it would be if a friend in Florida City were expecting you.
Heading into the park early tomorrow instead? Take a Family Pack back to the hotel tonight and you’re fed for the evening and the cooler.
